Joe Swinbank & Don Poarch - Partners & Owners of the Sprint Companies

Don and Joe began their partnership in 1976 with a passion for service and hard work, and a $100,000 SBA loan. Sprint Sand & Gravel was the first of the Sprint Companies and the proving ground for most of the core values that define the current businesses.
Throughout their 30-plus year partnership, they have built, acquired and operated a variety of service-oriented businesses across a wide range of industries. From waste services to sand mining and real-estate ventures, the experience Don and Joe have gained from each of their businesses has helped them strategically grow the Sprint Companies. Understanding the needs of the market place and utilizing their entrepreneurial instinct has allowed them to uncover many new opportunities.
Serving the community is an integral part of the Sprint Mission. Don and Joe both feel a strong tie to the community, and over the years, they have donated time, resources and money to various organizations throughout the Greater Houston region.
Don serves as Director of the Bank of Houston, Commissioner of Keep Houston Beautiful and is an active member in the community. Additionally, he is a member of the University of Texas Ex Student Association and a member of the Lakeside Country Club.
Joe serves as Director of Vista Bank in Houston. He is also an active member of the Texas A&M University Former Student Association and a member of the Lakeside Country Club.
Both are members of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church.
In 1974, Don received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas. That same year, Joe earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University.

Kyle Cain - President

Kyle Cain currently serves as President of Sprint Sand & Clay. Kyle joined the company in 1994 when Sprint operated just two locations. During his 29 year tenure Kyle has been responsible for managing the company with the help of the current staff and continuing to grow the business to its 25 plus locations throughout the Greater Houston area. Kyle has extensive experience in project management and soil testing using ASTM Standards. In 1990, Kyle graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Texas A & M University and holds an Associate’s Degree from Western Texas College. In addition, Kyle holds a Class A, B, and C Solid Waste license. Kyle currently is a member of the Houston Contractors Association where he has served in years past on the Board of Directors and the Greater Houston Builders Association.

Matt Strickland-Vice President

Matt joined Sprint Sand & Clay in 2003 after graduating from Texas A&M University. In his 20 years working at Sprint Sand & Clay, Matt has worked in various positions including Special Projects Manager, Area Operations Manager and General Manager. In his current role as Vice President, Matt works closely with the overall management team in helping oversee the day to day operations of the company.










Fletcher Dunson - Vice President Sales & Business Development

Fletcher Dunson currently serves as Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Sprint Sand and Clay. Fletcher joined the company in 2010 after working for Mass Mutual as a Financial Advisor. He also spent time in the Oil and Gas Industry as the lead Project Manager for Corrosion Resistant Alloys. Fletcher graduated from Texas Tech University in 2006 with a Degree in Business Communications. In his current role, Fletcher works closely with the Sales Department and overall management team in helping to oversee the day to day operations of the company.

Sandra Tondre - Chief Financial Officer

Sandra joined Sprint Sand and Clay as Controller in November 2013. She has 20 years of accounting management experience including 15 years in the sand and gravel industry and 5 years in mechanical and general contracting. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Texas State University, is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
